Q1. Do
I have to empty my drawers or tape them shut?
A1. You may leave clothing and linens in drawers but
should remove any fragile items. Do not tape drawers; we will secure
them for you.
Q2. What happens if I have to reschedule?
A2. The need to reschedule is common to this industry.
Contact our office as soon as you anticipate the need to reschedule
and we will work with you to meet the new requirements.
Q3. What is moving insurance and how much do I
need?
A3. Every move has a basic coverage required by law.
The minimum requirement is .60 cents per pound per article damaged or
lost. Additional insurance is available for purchase. A basic formula
is $5.00 per pound for full replacement value. (Example: A 10,000 lb
shipment should be insured for $50,000)
Q4. How much notice do you need to schedule a
move?
A4. Typically, 5-7 business days are enough notice.
When available, same day service can be provided. Remember that the
first and end of the month are the busiest time frames of each month
and the summer months are the busiest months of the year.
Q5. Does someone need to be present during the
move?
A5. Yes, for the following reasons:
- Signatures on shipping documents
- To show the movers what needs to be moved
- To show the movers where items are to be placed
Q6. Questions concerning payments/deposits?
A6. We do not require deposits. Payment should be made
at the completion of the move (unless other arrangements have been pre-approved
with our office). We accept cash, local checks, and all major credit
cards.
Q7. What happens if it rains?
A7. In most cases we can work around the rain. If the
rain becomes too severe we will complete the move as soon as the weather
and schedule permits.
Q8. Will you disassemble and reassemble beds and
appliances?
A8. This is part of the service we provide or you may
do it yourself to reduce cost.
Moving Tip:
Moving can be a stressful activity if you let it. Preparation
is the best tool to defeat this stress. It is very important that packing
is completed and done properly. Have the items you are taking separated
from what the movers are taking to prevent misunderstanding.
